The baby faced pop star has made more than a few songs that I don't care for. Good thing I have found the remedy for that. Sorry to any readers that have been struck by Bieber-Fever, I cannot take his infestation into our radio stations. This cover of "Boyfriend" by jazz/hip-hop group Palter Ego is certainly a breath of life into the song, and with vocalist Jesse Palter's smooth silky voice she carries the tune and adds a certain flair that was missing. With a face reminiscent of Nikki Reed, she adds a certain tone which caught my ear.
Backed by musician Sam Barsh, who lays down cool beats that up the tempo a bit, the Top 40 hit makeover is very interesting. Coming from L.A. the duo has a slew of other great covers that I couldn't stop listening to; Jesse's voice is magnetic and their originals are just a good. This group needs some recognition for their great work and I'll be spreading the word. The originals are very old timey feeling and had me shaking my hips while listening to them. Instant addition to my iTunes playlist. Palter Ego has already been showcased on TV shows such as Keeping up with the Kardashians and The Real World. All they need now is a few more followers and maybe they can produce some more awesome covers.
