This is the end...whether you like it or not

One of my favorite feelings is being right in the middle of an anime series.  You're involved in the story enough that you know most of the main characters, and you also have plenty of plot to entice you.  It's equally great to know that you have a bunch of episodes left to enjoy!  Every night with that series is just more fun, sitting down to watch and see where the series takes you.

Then...before you know it...it's all over.  The series you have come to know and love has now wrapped up its story arc.  Will there be another season?  Is there going to be a movie adaptation?  You don't know any of that. All you know is that the series you've invested time into has just come to a close, and all you've got to show for it is an empty feeling.

I know I really love an anime when I get this feeling.  Oddly enough, it happens to me a lot.  Maybe I'm just really easy to please when it comes to anime!  It also goes to show that my life must be somewhat happy, because one of the things that really makes me feel melancholy is when an anime wraps things up.  When I look back on all the series' I've seen and gotten this feeling from, I realize how much great content I've enjoyed over the years.

Still, remembering those shows brings back those feelings.  Some anime make me feel like this more than others, but it's something I experience quite often.  Where do you go from there?  Do you just jump into another anime series and push the feeling away?  Do you rewatch the series to see what you missed?  Do you try and get friends to watch as well?
